The Navigation

The Navigation is a traditional city centre pub situated opposite The Nottingham Evening Post and alongside the Nottingham Canal. The Pub is run by Elaine and her team, whose passion for hospitality means you will always find a warm welcome and friendly service when you visit.

The Pub offers a greats drinks range including four cask ales. Banks’s Bitter and Mild are available permanently with two changing guest ales that have included brews from Jennings, Marstons, Greene King and Nottingham Brewery. We also have Stella, Fosters, Kronenbourg and Carling lagers.

There is an extensive bar menu available everyday from 12pm – 7pm which includes burgers, baguettes, salads and our famous home-made Steak & Kidney Pie.  We also hold a Curry Night every Tuesday 5 - 9pm and a selection of specials are available every day.

There is a great canalside drinking terrace where you can sit back, relax and watch the canal boats as they negotiate Nottingham’s only working lock. The building was originally a warehouse used to service the freight boats that carried goods between Nottingham and Derby.  Following the smoking ban, we created a further outside terrace at the rear of the pub which is covered and heated.  Perfect for those chilly evenings!

The pub is a short walk from Nottingham Railway Station and is an ideal first port of call when visiting the city. Fans going to see Nottingham Forest, Notts County and Notts CCC often use the pub as a more relaxed venue for their pre-match food and drink.

There is a private room which can be booked for meetings, presentations and celebrations up to a capacity of 50. The pub will also let you have exclusive use of the whole bar on Saturday and Sunday nights.*
